I had a very quick session with a model Sareeta recently to be precise just 9 min. Had literally no time to avoid things like little awkward hand gesture etc. However, overall shoot went well and I really liked this image. Used a 85mm 1.2L lens with a Canon EOS 6D body. I used lightroom and applied aqua present effect after doing a bit of retouching the image.

Off the Ramp

My very first experiments with the flash photography at a new year party where a fashion show was organized as well. I caught few models off the ramp for a pose. Was using my canon 6D with a 24-70mm 2.8L lens and a local flash made by sun power.

This image was taken in my recent trip to Liverpool, UK where beatles were discovered. The signer Paul Jones, singing at the cavern club the so called home ground for beatles. It was quite dark in there from the photography perspective so my 85mm 1.2L lens was at the rescue. I didn't do much in the post for this image as I like the overall red tone. I only darkened the surroundings of guitarist a bit.

I have blogged earlier about the Horseshoe bend located in Page, Arizona. This is the same picture and processed differently in the Lightroom 5. I did not start from scratch and used the previous image as base image. Then neutralized all the colors using saturation sliders to their lowest value which basically takes out all the colors. Then I worked a bit on shadows and highlights to bring out higher contrasts. And finally, used the selective adjustment brush to bring back the colors in the water by bumping up saturation and vibration significantly.

This is nature's true gem. Very close to antelope canyons you can visit this place up close after following a small hike. It was bit cloud that day so photographing it in the middle of the day still made it look awesome. I put a ND filter to cut off some light and did a long exposure of around 2 sec. You can notice that in the water.

This image was taken at Antelope Canyons. I visited there in the month of july and so it was very hot and humid. I did not opt for the photographer's package so they do not allow you to use tripod plus there is too much crowd. Shooting in the middle of the day adds another challenge as most of the time shooting up in the canyons brings too much light towards top.  I had use light room to add lot of glow to look them orange and purple. This place is tough to cover but worth a shot.

The Oracle

Taken in early hours using a canon 6D and 24-70mm lens. I had to raise the iso a bit to shoot it at f8. The reflections were amazing. Towards right you can see Oracle' boat which won America's cup.

Taken in Clovis at the annual hot air balloon festival this year. I used a canon EOS 6D with a 24-70mm 2.8L lens. The event starts before the sunrise so we drove to clovis from redwood city, CA a day before and woke up 5am in the morning. This image was taken when all the balloons were lined up and ready to fly. Sun was about to rise which you can observe towards the middle left of the image where highlights are blown up. I had to add vibrancy to the image a bit in the lightroom 5.

This was taken as Skagit valley, Seattle a place about an hour from the city. When I started we were quite skeptical as it might rain that day. However, we still kept our fingers crossed and moved on. Luckily it was not raining and there were beautiful clouds all over. Tulip festival happens just once a year here around mid April. It all looks heavenly. This picture was taken using a canon EOS 6D with a 24-70mm lens at probably f11.

Taken in the year 2013 at Seattle zoo. This was a very regular picture taken in a day light when this creature was about 2 feet away behind a glass wall. After bringing the image home I thought to try something creative with this image and put it in the Lightroom 5. I darkened everything in the background to avoid distraction and then added quite a bit of details and sharpness to the face, especially to the eyes. And the results were just too good. It was taken using a canon 6D with a 24-70 2.8 lens if I remember correctly.

Taken last night using a canon EOS 6D with a 24-70mm 2.8 L lens without any flash. The lighting was not too great but the baby was in a very good mood. Diwali is the biggest Hindu festival celebrated in India and across the World by Hindu community. It's also called a 'festival of lights'. The plate of candles which you see on the sofa are not what is actually used. In India, people buy the diyas made of clay by local pot makers and fill them with oil. They are used for initial prayers and then places all over the places in entire house.
